ROVER 2 is the talking Royal Ai. Everything below is what he does today, on this site, in a live conversation.
He speaks out loud
A real voice, not a robot reading a page. Press TALK and he answers in it, every turn, until you press TEXT.
He listens hands-free
The microphone comes back on its own between turns. A quiet moment does not end the conversation, and you never have to re-arm anything.
He always leaves the type path open
If the browser cannot hear you, ROVER points back into the box and says JUST TYPE HERE. The same conversation continues without a dead end.
He keeps the conversation going
There is no question count and no polite landing after three. Ten turns in he is as curious as he was on turn two.
He asks the right questions
One real question per turn, chosen for you — he is looking for what actually worries you, not filling a form.
He does the arithmetic
Ask what a payment might run and he interviews you for the missing pieces one at a time, then walks the math — principal and interest, taxes, insurance, and mortgage insurance when it applies.
He knows the whole process
Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, non-QM. Escrow, points, appraisals, closing costs. Ask what a word means and he answers in everyday words in the same breath.
He is short on purpose
No answer runs past ten lines. Compressed, never truncated — anything required is always still there.
He is funny, once
One joke an answer — one is the floor and the ceiling. Warm, observational, clean, and always swinging straight back to your question. It yields entirely when the moment is heavy.
What he will not do — and what he cannot do yet
ROVER 2 does not remember you between conversations. Close the tab and he starts fresh. That is not an oversight, it is what ROVER 2 is: an expert at questions who keeps a conversation alive without holding on to it afterwards. Memory is coming, and it belongs to a different ROVER.
He never quotes you a rate and never predicts an approval. Any number he runs is a hypothetical you built with him, labelled as one, always “about.” He does not price your file and he does not tell you whether you qualify — that is a licensed human’s job, and he will hand you to one rather than guess.
He tells you when the answer is not his. Anything that needs a real look at your real situation goes to Bryan. ROVER says so plainly instead of improvising.

ROVER is one character with one body and one soul, and more than one job. Each ROVER gets his own brain and his own room; none of them borrows another’s.
